Safari in Tanzania

The amount and variety of wildlife in Africa is hard to conceive of until you've seen it. I expected the lions, cheetahs and zebras but the plethora of species of grazing animals was a surprise. The variety of birds was completely unanticipated for me and would be heaven for any birder. Animals like zebras and giraffes that seem completely exotic at first, start seeming common after a couple of days. Having visited the national parks of North America and experiencing how difficult it can be to see predators, I was also pleasantly surprised by how many lions, cheetahs and leopards we saw.
