Cleveland

Most of what I saw in Cleveland comes from its more prosperous past. Downtown has many buildings from the city's industrial heyday. Some like the May Company Building are in a state of disrepair with boarded up windows. Others like Cleveland Trust Company building have been restored and now houses a grocery store. There are many signs of revitalization but one can feel the city's economy is still struggling.

My favorite attraction was A Christmas Story House which is the actual house used in the 1984 movie. The house has been completely restored to match the movie and is a must see if you are fan of the film. The movie was shot in Cleveland rather the Indiana where the story is set since Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood in the 1980s still looked like it did in the 1940s.
