The Great Reno Balloon Race 2009
After being wowed by the spectacle of a 100 hot balloons taking flight last year, I was looking forward to a return visit. The festival did not disappoint, as once again, watching the balloons was a magical experience.
Dawn Patrol
The pre-dawn glows are sight to behold and they would have to be for me to get out of bed that early.
There were supposed to be 5 balloons but one had an issue and could not safely inflate so there were only 4 balloons Saturday morning.
The weather conditions Saturday were unusual with many clouds in the sky. I believe this was due to a freak thunderstorm that had hit San Francisco the day before. The storm did bring some rain to Reno later in the day.
