End of Summer
Carnival rides are in my mind closely linked with summer and with the season winding to a close, I thought I’d share an image I made at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a few weeks back.

This morning had the high thin clouds that typically make for a gorgeous sunset so I was hoping for a colorful show. By the time sunset rolled around, it had become quite overcast with a layer of marine fog so the sunset was muted. Even so, I was able to make an interesting image.

Lifeguard Tower, Seacliff Beach
I came to Seacliff Beach to see the USS Palo Alto but also found the unused lifeguard intriguing. Were there life guards here at one time? Perhaps there were in California’s golden age when the state government was not perpetually broke.
