Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands feels much more remote than Arches even though it's only a 40 minute drive between the two. I only visited the Islands in the Sky section which is the most accessible of the three parts of the park. Islands in the Sky has sweeping views of landscapes often thousands of feet below. There's ruggedness here that few other places in the lower 48 states can match.
