Rhyolite

Rhyolite is a ghost town just outside the national park. It was a boomtown that sprung up for miners who were looking for gold in the surrounding hills. Even as ghost towns go, it's not all that well preserved. For most of the buildings, only concrete walls are left. I prefer the look of weathered wood to just concrete.

The Goldwell Open Air Museum is just outside of Rhyolite and I found it to be more interesting than the ghost town. The ghostly figures are from the "The Last Supper" and are particular haunting as apparitions in the desert.
