Yogyakarta is the gateway to Borobudur. It's in the center of the island of Java and Lonely Planet calls it the cultural heart of the Java. Besides transiting through to go to Borobudur, the best thing to see is Prambana Temple Complex. Prambana is an group of Hindu temples from the 9th century. I also saw the Sultan's place. known as the Kranton.
