Glacier National Park:

Waterton Lakes & Glacier National Park

Adjoining Glacier on the Canadian side of the border is Waterton Lakes National Park. The iconic image of Waterton Lakes is the Prince of Wales Hotel perched on the hill above Waterton Lakes. The hotel, like the lodges in Glacier, was built by the Great Northern Railroad as part of their effort to bring tourists to the park. The hotel is perfectly situated to have an amazing view.

The high point of the trip for me was going out to Grinell Lake. We opted to take the boat tour which both shortens the hike to the lake and gets you out on two other lakes. The hike gave the feeling of being immersed in nature. The Bunchberries were blooming everywhere, as far as the eye could see and the sounds of the forest were wonderful.
