Portland and the Columbia River Gorge

I'd been to Portland a few times before but it had been many years since I'd visited for anything beyond a quick business trip. In my head, I'd thought about Portland as being a smaller Seattle. But there was much I'd forgotten. Portland is far quirkier than I'd remembered and has much more of a small city feel. I was also surprised about how industrial parts of the city are.
