Houston:

Houston

My third visit to Houston pleasantly surprised me. On prior visits, my take was Houston is the Texas version of Los Angles. I still think that's the correct take, but on this visit, I spent more time in core Houston than the suburbs, so I got a more profound and richer appreciation of how the Texas version differs. With its lower cost of everything, Houston has more interesting and quirky things than would be possible in California. There are both big and small art museums with free admission. Artists have workshops close to downtown. More is possible when everything, especially indoor space, doesn't cost a small fortune.
