This was my first Thanksgiving in Houston. For my sightseeing, I returned to some of the same places I saw on my February 2023 visit and also saw some new places. The Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern is well worth a visit. The tour guide did a nice job on the history of the cistern, though I missed a lot of what he was saying because I was too busy photographing. The 90ft Hanuman statue in Sugarland was very impressive. It's the 3rd tallest statue in the US. The Baps Mandir was also splendid. The entire structure is ornately carved marble. It's rare to see a recently constructed building with so much beautiful stone carving.
