Pompeii

Pompeii offers the visitor the unique opportunity to step back in time to the time of the Roman Empire. For those not familiar with Pompeii, it was an ancient Roman town that was buried in ash when Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79. Pompeii was lost to history for almost 1700 years. The ash preserved the buildings of the town and now that much of the town has been excavated, the visitor can stroll the streets and see how the ancient Romans lived.

The most popular building in Pompeii today is the brothel whose official name is the Lupanar of Pompeii. It's the only building we had to wait in line to get into. Pompeii's Brothel contains erotic wall paintings which is why it's popular with visitors.
