Montréal

As with most tourists to Montréal, we focused on Old Montréal with its 19th-century (and older) buildings. The highlight was the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal. On the outside, it looks like many other cathedrals. However, on the inside, it is one of the stunning spaces I've ever seen. The interior walls and ceiling are beautifully painted. Many cathedrals were painted when constructed, but few have their paint well-maintained.
