Yellowstone National Park
When I added it up, I was surprised to realize this was my sixth trip to Yellowstone. From a revealed-preference standpoint, Yellowstone sits at the top of my list of vacation destinations. That said, I had not been there in 12 years, so maybe it is more of a past revealed preference than a current one. I was curious to see how I would respond to the park after such a long gap. This trip was also with a large family group, most of whom were seeing Yellowstone for the first time.
Yellowstone has a magic that is present on a first visit, a sixth visit, and I imagine even a twentieth visit. Even having been there many times before, it is easy to forget just how large the park is. Especially when staying outside the park, seeing all of Yellowstone means long days with a lot of driving. On this trip, I did both the North and South Loops.
I recommend Yellowstone to anyone who has not been and who enjoys nature or the outdoors. I am not sure when my seventh trip will be. I always enjoy Yellowstone, but there are so many other places I still want to see. The one season I have yet to experience in Yellowstone is winter, so perhaps my next visit will be a winter trip by snowmobile.
