Tonight’s sunset was beautifully full of color.

An unusually dramatic sunset for the summer at Panther Beach on Santa Cruz coast. It even rained for a little bit.

I’m a huge fan of old neon signs and was surprised to find out that San Jose has quite a few and many of the best ones are clustered along Santa Cruz avenue. I haven’t yet been able to figure out the reason for neon was popular for Santa Cruz Ave businesses. If you wan to explore the signs, check out this Metro article on San Jose’s neon.

Carnival rides are in my mind closely linked with summer and with the season winding to a close, I thought I’d share an image I made at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a few weeks back.

This was my first trip to Calero County Park. The park is in San Jose but feels a world part from Silicon Valley. Unlike the parks closer the urban centers, Calero feels like wilderness and is blissfully uncrowded.
