I like this images because it captures the celebratory mood of the crowd.

By chance , I happened to be in Victoria for Canada Day. Canada Day felt like a giant college football game with many of the revelers draping themselves in the Canadian flag, painting their faces or at least wearing red and white. The mood of the crowd was joyful and everyone was clearly very proud to be Canadian.

The last rays of light on summer solstice shine over a San Francisco enveloped in fog.

While wandering around the Gamble Garden looking for flowers to photograph, I came upon this dragonfly who was kind enough to remain in one spot while I photographed him.

After taking this shot, I thought I should write down the name of the flower but then I remembered in today’s SEO driven world, generically calling them white flowers attractsmore attention (searches) than the actual name. One of my most popular images is these ‘Red Flowers’.
Taken at the Gamble Garden in Palo Alto.

It was a cloudy June day so not too much color in the sky. In the distance and the end of the pier is the remains of the USS Palo Alto.

The USS Palo Alto is a concrete hull ship docked, well more wreaked, at the end of the pier at Seacliff State Beach in Aptos. Brought to Sea Cliff in 1930 to become a merriment destination with a dance floor and even plans for heated swimming pool, the venture failed and the ship ended up abandoned. Today, all that’s left is the decaying hull.

The Neon Boneyard is a must visit for me on my next trip Las Vegas. I learned about it too late on my last trip to get one the tours so I had to content myself with looking and shooting over the fence. The boneyard is a wonder-land of old lighted signs, neon or light bulbs.
