South Iceland
The southern coast of Iceland is the most scenic part of the country and has the best sites on the Ring Road. As with the entire ring road, there are many waterfalls. One of my favorite experiences of the entire trip was hiking through the lupines in Skaftafell Nature Reserve. There was no one else out on the trail to the glacier. I was a bit bummed to later find out that the lupine flowers that blanket much of the country are not native and are considered an invasive species.
