Golden Gate Bridge at Twilight

Golden Gate Bridge at Twilight

After too many failed attempts of shooting the Golden Gate Bridge, I can tell you the secret.  On a clear day, you want to wait till sun has set and the towers are lit.  Twilight is the perfect time.  You want a little color in the sky.  This shot is a little later than ideal.  It’s taken from the second turn out on Cozumel road which goes up into the Marin Headlands.

Mike vs. The Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach

The Golden Gate Bridge has always frustrated me as a subject.  I find it very difficult to get a picture that I don’t dislike.  I was hoping to break my zero for too many to count streak of outings to shoot the bridge.  Tonight’s outing was at least not a strike out.  Taken from Baker Beach.

Update: Reaction has been good to this image so I’m declaring this round for myself.   I’m now 1 for 15 or so with the bridge.
