The Pyramids

The Pyramids at Giza loom large in the imagination. They are truly ancient and of monumental scale. Surprisingly though they are not the top of the list of the best things I saw on this adventure. They are definitely worth a visit especially because they are so close to Cairo with the suburbs coming right up to them. But at least for me, they didn't leave the same impression as some of Egypts other marvels.
